Some facts

The Spurs won Game 2 of their series against the Suns after trailing by 14 points, and they won the Game 1 of the series after trailing by 16 points. The last NBA team to win consecutive playoff games despite trailing by at least 14 points in each was the Kings in the first round in 2001, also against the Suns (Games 3 and 4).
GARNETT NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF YEAR
Kevin Garnett was named the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year today, recognizing his contribution to the Celtics' defensive turnaround. Boston's opponents made 46.8 percent of their field-goal attempts last season, but only 41.9 percent this season. Only one NBA team since 1970 has had a larger improvement in opponents' field-goal percentage: Spurs opponents went from 47.1 percent in 1996-97 to 41.1 in 1997-98.

SUNS: 11 POINTS IN THIRD QUARTERThe Spurs held the Suns to 11 points in the third quarter of San Antonio's comeback victory. The Suns were held to fewer than a dozen points in only one quarter during the regular season, when they had nine points in the fourth quarter of their loss against the Mavericks on April 6.
